Accessibility
Updated November 2, 2026
Our goal: everyone who loves a pet should be able to use Pawmology, whatever device, setting or assistive technology they use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we do
- Screen readers. Pages, forms and pop-ups are labeled for VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA and JAWS. Messages like “Saved” or “Care sheet created” are read out, and when you open a new page we move to its heading so you know where you landed.
- Keyboard. Everything works with Tab, Enter, Space and Esc. A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing you reach. Pop-up sheets keep focus inside until you close them, then return you to where you were.
- Seeing the screen. Text meets contrast guidelines, works in light and dark mode, and can be zoomed to 200% without losing anything. Buttons are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, we turn animations off.
- Videos. Our walkthrough videos have no sound, and every step they show is also written out on the guide page.
- Testing. Every release is checked with automated accessibility tests (axe) and keyboard-only tests of every screen and pop-up.
Known limits
Photos sitters add during a visit come with the sitter’s note, but not a separate description of the photo. Documents that owners upload (like vaccine PDFs) are only as accessible as the original file.
